I'm so excited for the new school year to begin! Being a teacher in a two year old classroom is such a rewarding job. There are so many fun things going on throughout the school year, but before that can begin my classroom needed some reorganizing and lots of color!
After many hours of sanitizing toys, organizing school supplies, scrubbing furniture, and decorating the classroom I think it is ready! Take a look!
I LOVE the bright colors I added to the room. It really catches your eye when you walk in. I used 12x12 card stock from my local arts and craft store to make the pennant banners. I bought the card stock when it was on sale for 6 for $1.00! Each piece of card stock paper made one pennant (I glued the same color card stock to the back of each one so you would see it from the back of the room too). After I finished all the pennants I hot glued them to ribbon i had left over from last year. Came out so cute!
The tissue paper pom poms I bought from my local party supply store. It was around $7.00 for 3 in a variety color package, a little pricey but the end result was so worth the expense!
This is our new painting corner. Once again, I love all the bright colors. The cute welcome banner I found on Teachers pay Teachers, by Little Lovely Leaders for FREE! She has such cute stuff! Check it out!
Our birthday bulletin board! I used my Cricut machine with the Doodlecharms cartridge to make the cupcakes then just added each students name and birthday to the candles!
I finally invested in bins with lids and I have to say it was the best thing I ever did. Our classroom last year was a dumping ground for toys, but now the children have to ask for help opening the bins. It helps promote language development, and of course a cleaner room! :)
So.. I bought these colored circles at a teacher store last year and I couldn't find any use for them- well, I am so happy I kept them! Trying to get my students to line up before leaving the classroom has been challenging, so I decided to make it fun. Each students has to stand on a circle before we leave the room. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed with this one, but I have a feeling its going to be exactly what I needed.
Here are a few other cute things I added to my room this year!
I made this crayon wreath with a wooden circle, hot glue and left over crayons from my own children's arts and craft box. I used my cricut machine to cut out the "Terrific Two's" letters.
And finally.... my bulletin board! I LOVE how this came out!! I bought the crayons cutouts at my local teachers store and made the crayon box. I got the idea from this Rainbows within reach, which is one of my FAVORITE blogs! So many great teaching ideas!
Well, hope you like my classroom, I know I do. Now I just need the bright smiling faces of my students to make it the perfect preschool classroom!
Hello everyone! I am so excited about starting this blog so I can share all my fun and
creative ideas and projects as well as some fun ways we learn in my
